Allow me to briefly explain the Skill Level System on CE(Chaotic Era), what it means, and how we determine it
First, let me explain how important your character's Skill Level is. Think the skill levels as Tiers within your Rank( Royokai, Mikoyokai, and Daiyokai), with D being the lowest and A being the highest. All we're doing is sorting your character into one of these tiers. The higher skill level generally has an ADVANTAGE in combat, but that doesn't mean having a higher skill level means you automatically win a battle. Each Class is how proficient you are in your rank.
Just because two characters have been assigned to the same rank doesn't mean they're the same power. All I mean to say is that Skill Level really isn't that important to the actual RP, except for knowing that an B-Class Mikoyokai will have an advantage over a C-class Mikoyokai. What matters more in RP battles is how well you actually play it out, the use of strategy and how you use your attacks.
Skill Level IS important when it comes to Daiyokai characters though. Daiyokai Skill level is the highest and the gap between a Daiyokai and an Mikoyoaki is larger than any other. Daiyokai are exceedingly rare, and only the best profiles will get ranked this highly. Even though yes, an Daiyokai character can be defeated by a well made A Class Mikoyokai character, Daiyokai characters are usually the most powerful on the board. Thus we reserve this level for very competent writers who understand how to make powerful characters, while still being fair and balanced. To summarize; Don't put too much thought into what the Staff Ranks you. Your Skill Level is used to determine what missions you may take, the amount of attacks you may start with, and things like that but it really isn't THAT important to the actual RP.
Now I'll explain how we actually decide a Character's class. First and most importantly, it depends on how well your profile is made/how well you write (NOT how long it is for god-sake, only thing worse than a bad profile is a LONG bad profile). Good, mature writers often are more reasonable when it comes to creating abilities and making sure that they RP in a fair and balanced way, even if they have a stronger character, and thus they get the Staffs trust that they can handle more abilities without Power Gaming. f your writing is average or really nothing that special we're more likely just to Class you at whatever the average for your rank is. This isn't a knock on your writing abilities however, and being ranked average doesn't mean that we think you're a poor writer. And besides, there are more things that go into determining Skill Level.
Lastly, and least importantly, the Staff looks at what YOU describe in your history, particularly for S-classes. Another way to look at Skill Level is your character's experience level. If your character is a 100 year old Mikoyokai, and you clearly describe in your history 'just became a Mikoyokai' I can't rationalize ranking you higher than a C-class Mikoyokai, no matter how well you write. Things like that matter, if your character has been a Mikoyokai for a while, but hasn't done anything of note in his history, I probably won't rank you higher then a B-class
Ranks:
Royokai [Low Level Demon] Royokai are entry level demon that have a firm grasp on the basics. These demon possess minimal skill in all demonic arts. They typically know a few abilities outside of the basic demon techniques. They usually know attacks such as, Iron Reaver Soul Stealer, and Kenatsu.
Mikoyokai [Medium Level Demon] Mikoyokai are seen as something you wouldn’t want to come face to face with, They have years of experience under their belts and are well rounded combatants that excel in their chosen demonic art. They have large reserves of stamina and demonic aura and are capable of performing great feats. Mikoyokai are rare and scarce, only a handful existing in each territory. Mikoyokai are able to use a range of demonic techs and are also able to use their weapon’s(if they have one) stronger attacks. Attacks such as, Blacklash Wave and Adamant Barrage.
Daiyokai [Great Demon) A Daiyôkai is a very powerful type of yokai that is much stronger and smarter than the common yokai. Most daiyokai have long life span possibly even longer then a normal yokai's life span. Most are able to remain calm in battle even if the situation is dire or their life threatened. Daiyokai are able to transform into human looking form, an example of this would be the Great Dog Demon and Sesshomaru. Some daiyokai are very large in size such as Ryukotsusei and the Dog general, but not all of them are.
Daiyokai are the best of the best of the best, and if Mikoyokai is rare then Daiyokai is almost impossible to come by. Daiyokai are the highest level of demon, and there are only a handful of demon in the world who have ever reached these heights. Daiyokai possesses massive demonic energy reserves and battle experience. Such warriors are capable of near impossible feats. It takes many years to become a demon of this caliber. Daiyokai may possess a number of different abilities, and are able to use attacks such as Meido Zangetsuha and Cutting-universe Zangetsuha.
