Shoryu, continuing on his travels throughout the land, had found his way by a waterfall. He had first searched for the demons Inuyasha and Sesshomaru, but could find no trace of them. Unlike dogs or wolves, he was not made for tracking, he had no way to follow their scent. He also hadn't been able to gather information, since most beings avoid him and so he has been wandering. He saw the waterfall and, growing a bit tired of walking around, stopped and sat down next to it.
He merely sat there, stretching himself from time to time, beginning to nod off to sleep. He had found no trace of the brothers nor found any demon worth fighting, just more insects. He grew so bored with this. He decided to train for a bit. He took out his Sanzuchi, and began doing thrusts, each strike causing a small air wave as it passed. Its heaviness and length made it difficult for many to master, but it was easy for Shoryu. He continued to practice his forms in the solitude of the waterfall. Perhaps other demons would come by here to drink, and he'd find someone worth his time.

DREADFUL.
verything about this day was dreadful. Absolutely dreadful. It was far too sunny, and far too warm for this time of year. And far too quiet. No sound for miles but the buzzing of insects, the roar of the waterfall, and the occasional rustle of small animals in the underbrush. Not even the birds were singing. Nothing else in the air, but... the swish of a blade in the air? Inhaling sharply, the chilled air brought a scent to her that had before gone unnoticed-- something distinctly reptilian. Dragon, if she wasn't mistaken. How in the hells had she not noticed that youki before? Sure, it was a little far off, but not so much as that it should have been a problem... It was odd. Yukiko, puzzled by her mistress's sudden pause, seemed to be realizing it too now-- she was sniffing the ground excitedly and whining in the direction of the scent. Intrigued, the little demoness set off in the direction of the scent, making her way quickly but quietly toward the waterfall. Worst case scenario, she had a fight on her hands... nothing she couldn't handle. Very powerful demons usually meant very strong auras, which didn't seem to be the case here. Although they did have a blade of some sort... Tsu wasn't a huge fan of bladed weapons. Like all her people, she was trained to some extent in using them, but her own katana remained relatively untouched at her side-- her natural elemental abilities were far more powerful and far easier for her to use than some piece of metal. Going at a light run, it didn't take long for Tsu to close the gap between her and the ryu. Yuki remained some distance behind Tsuzuki, partially because the yourouzoku had her outpaced and partially because she knew how things were prone to be jumping out and attacking while the demoness was around. For all the protection she offered, most of the dangers were created by Tsuzuki herself. Pausing in the lighter undergrowth right before the treeline broke into the riverbank, Tsuzuki slowed her pace to a hunter's stalk and peered into the clear area. If the demon was too absorbed in his training to notice, well then she might have the opportunity to scope him out before she tried anything... but there was no guarantee that was the case. Shoryu continued training with his blade, working through all the forms, the exercises. Now was time to do some more effective training. He walked over to the waterfall and with one strike, cut the stream of water in half. It was almost perfect, only one part wasn't cut even. However, almost wasn't good enough. He continued to strike again and again before he was sufficient with his strike. He decided that now he would test his strength. He walked over to a tree and, with a quick flick of the wrist, cut in vertically in half. It happened in a split second.
Now sufficient in his sword training, he sheathed it once more, and decided to focus on his physical attacks. Though he seemed very lithe and thin, he was very strong, though not strong enough. Right now, he could only take a human-esque form. The only things noticably inhuman about his appearance were several markings on his forehead and eyes, as well as a pair of small horns that sprouted out of the back of his head. He had not yet learned to take a full yokai form, hadn't built the energy. His father was so strong he was constantly in full demonic form. Shoryu wasn't going to lose to him.
He took stones from the river and crushed them to dust in his hands. Not good enough, too easy. He flicked his finger at a boulder, causing it to shatter. Still too easy. There was nothing here that any demon couldn't easily destroy. If only he had some adamant, now those could be effective to try and break. Regardless, he had at least worked up some sort of sweat from his brisk training. He decided he might as well take a dip in the lake under the waterfall.
He began to remove his kimono and other clothes and get ready to take his swim. Perhaps he would train by meditating under the waterfall. He was so bored, there was no way to improve his skills, no challenge. At this rate, his skills would only get worse, not better.

STRENGTH.
trength. The other demon was crushing rocks in his hands, something that almost made Tsuzuki wince-- yeah, sure, she could shatter stone too, but that usually took something like a very hard kick. Snapping bones in her hands, sure-- but not stones. Even with all ninety pounds of muscle behind her attacks, it still wasn't enough to put her on par with a larger male. Her full demon form, on the other hand, was a different story. Tsuzuki could full well transform, but it was so much less... convenient, to be running around as a giant wolf. You couldn't go anywhere quietly. You couldn't be try to be inconspicuous. It was like inviting every taija, youkai, or ningen warlord in the area to take a swing at you. Even in her full demon form, there was no avoiding that fact that Tsuzuki was still petite. And in her humanoid form, her race was stated quite obviously by her tail and the furs she wore. Still, there were still quite a few tricks Tsu had up her sleeve. As the male began to undress and sink into the river, Tsuzuki closed her eyes and concentrated her youki, freezing from the edges, closing inwards toward the other youkai. Moving water was always more difficult, but a river of this size was well within the current range of her powers. Allowing a small smirk to cross her face, she sank back a bit into the bushes to watch how the Ryuu reacted. For a moment, it was almost nostalgic. Memories of similar escapades with her big brothers back home flooded into her mind, and she had the strangest feeling that she'd tried this on them once or twice before. But then again, they'd done a whole manner of embarrassing things to her over the years, so it was probably well deserved. It crossed her mind, briefly, to back away now and find something else to do... but what else was there around here? She was too far South, even within the Northern Lands, to worry about any run ins with her former pack. Sure, there were Yorouzoku in the northern mountains, but in recent years pack numbers will still low-- increasing, with the jewel shard threat eliminated, but it would be years before they'd returned to their former numbers. Better for her, on one hand, since she had far fewer problems with crossing through pack territory where she was not welcomed, but still unfortunate for her people as a whole. And she never did get her hands on any of those goddamn jewel shards anyway. [/blockquote][/blockquote][/ul]

While he had previously been unaware of any other presence here, now Shoryu could tell there was something afoot. The sound and sight of ice forming around the area of the river could clearly be noticed. the ice was coming from the edges towards him. He quickly leaped out from the water before they reached him and, redonning his garb, looked around the area, trying to find the someone or something causing this.
"Come on out, I know you're there. I don't appreciate being spied on." He focused around the area, before finally spotting the person. It was a petite wolf demon girl, an albino at that. She must be a native to the area, possibly an inhabitant of the mountain area. At any rate, she clearly didn't seem the type to pick a fight.
"What's the meaning of this? What do you want?" He saw no reason for the wolf to want him dead, unless he had killed some family member of hers. Every so often, some being, demon or human, would come and state on how he killed their family or something like that. Those beings normally ended up dead. Still, he was curious as to what game this ice wolf was playing.

ARROGANT GIRL, LOVE YOURSELF SO NO ONE HAS TO.
he small smirk plastered on Tsuzuki's face transformed into a wolfish grin as she stood up to her full height-- a whopping four feet eleven inches-- and walked out of the bushes. The ice began to recede as the walked forward, lazily flicking her tail and stirring up the air around her with little swirls of snow flurries. Intimidation was the key here, something she learned a long time ago-- the more confident you seemed, the more likely you were to demoralize you opponents... or avoid a fight altogether. But a little skirmish now might actually prove interesting... Dragon youkai weren't something Tsuzuki came across regularly, and she honestly couldn't remember if she'd every fought one before. On premise though, she didn't like reptiles. Too much time in the sun, for her. Anything that could bask in the heat for so many hours... the thought made Tsu shudder. "Spying? Now, that sounds like an accusation, right there. I wouldn't say I was spying, more... observing" Her tone of voice was dangerously sweet, and Tsu found herself eyeing the demon up and down to determine if there was anything else she had to worry about... no wings, spikes, or anything that looked like it could secret poison. That was a good sign. "And I highly doubt that there's anything you have that I could want."Tsuzuki emphasized her words with a little chuckle and placed a hand on her hip... the hip to which her katana was attached. What a joke that thing was-- she'd used it once, maybe twice in the entire time she'd had it, and never actually in battle... it made a very satisfying clang when you through it at things in a rage though. The wolf demon decided to walk up to him confidently, with a smirk on her face. It was probably bravado, weaker creatures often pretended to be strong to fend away predators that could easily kill them otherwise. However, Shoryu wasn't one of those, and he was far from impressed with the tiny little thing.
The flurries of snow she made didn't impress him either. So she could manipulate snow, it didn't matter. Ice or fire, water or wind, nothing could damage him.
"Observing? Very well. Then I'll leave. You're not worth my time." He decided to walk away. While she was obviously trying to show how intimidating she was, she was nothing to him. He really couldn't care even a little about who she was or where she came from. Now that he found out who it was, he no longer cared. He turned his back to her and walked off in the opposite direction, a clear sign he had nothing but disdain for her.
